Something to think about: E-Mail
on what drug companies pay doctors.
Each year, drug companies shower doctors with meals, gifts and travel subsidies valued between $8,000 and $13,000 per doctor - all to persuade doctors to prescribe these companies' drugs to patients. Most medical schools offer just one course in pharmacology. This means that many doctors' knowledge about drugs comes almost entirely from sales reps. Plus, about 70% of the top 200 drugs on the market at any given time were probably not available when the average middle-aged doctor was in medical school.
